Friday After 5 is a weekly series of free outdoor concerts held on the Owensboro riverfront. The festival created by Downtown Owensboro, Inc., began in 1996 with 10 weekends of concerts and has grown to become a 16-week, summer-long signature event for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 35,000 visitors. The festival includes live bands, interactive events for families, crafts and entertainment each Friday After 5 until 10pm on Owensboro's riverfront overlooking the Ohio River. Downtown Owensboro, Inc. created Friday After 5 as an economic development tool for the revitilization of the historic downtown business district and to re-establish downtown as the gathering place of the community.
